Job summary

Shield AI in Seattle is seeking a hands-on test professional to support aircraft and system testing on the XBAT program. You will plan and execute UAV and aircraft tests, develop test plans from ground up, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality and mission success.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 5+ years in aerospace testing, ability to read drawings, develop procedures, troubleshoot test anomalies, and travel domestically.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field with 5+ years aerospace/test experience.
• Experience planning, executing, and reporting on test activities for UAV/UAS or manned aircraft systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical docs.
• Experience developing aircraft test plans, procedures, and documentation.
• Hands-on support for aircraft integration, test, and validation in production/manufacturing.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex aircraft, avionics, and system integration issues during tests.
• Strong written and verbal communication across cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours and travel domestically.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage traceability of test requirements through development, integration and test phases.
• Plan, coordinate and execute aircraft/lab test activities including pre-test reviews and post-test reporting.
• Coordinate test schedules to align with program milestones and objectives.
• Develop and manage test event sequencing and execution plans.
• Oversee ground and flight test execution ensuring safety and procedures.
