Job summary

RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer to develop and maintain documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, work instructions, guidance documents, and operator preventive maintenance documentation.

The successful candidate will collaborate cross functionally with assembly operators, shop floor leads, production supervisors, industrial engineers, manufacturing engineers, design engineers and quality assurance teams.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical process documentation in a manner that provides production personnel with the ability to build high-quality products efficiently and effectively including but not limited to procedures, work instructions, guidance documents and operator preventive maintenance documentation.
• Support adherence to site Change Control Board process.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to validate technical accuracy and completion.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to standardize documentation practices.
• Maintain consistency in format, terminology, and document structure.
• Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks.
