Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry required.
• 10 years of engineering experience; alternatively, 8 years with a qualifying degree.
• Two years of experience directly related to safety of military systems and ordnance, including formulating risk assessments, hazard analyses, fault tree analyses, and safety recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluations of safety issues and define adequates safety assessment tests for new and ongoing operations.
• Conduct and document formal safety analyses including FMEA, FTA, PHA, HAZOP, and software safety analysis.
• Evaluate system design, engineering analyses, and operational documents, making recommendations related to safety releases and operational risk.
• Maintain knowledge of safety standards from DoD, MDA, NASA, OSHA, and Army/Aviation safety regulations and assess impact.
• Prepare detailed reports for safety analyses, evaluations, and past test-incident investigations.
• Provide regulatory compliance evaluations and ensure alignment with safety requirements.
