Job summary

Aerotek in Wichita, KS is seeking a Systems Mechanic to support wiring and assembly for U.S. military aircraft. You will perform wire terminations, install connectors, and execute splicing, wrap, and routing in accordance with aerospace standards.

This contract position requires at least 2 years in aerospace manufacturing, ability to work 1st or 2nd shift, and may include overtime. OSHA and security clearances may apply.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of aerospace experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Hands-on experience performing wire terminations with consistent quality and adherence to aerospace standards.
• Proficiency installing connectors on aircraft wiring systems, including proper crimping and verification of connections.
• Demonstrated ability to perform wire splicing and wire wrap with attention to detail and reliability.
• Experience with aircraft assembly processes, including basic structural assembly and component installation.

Responsibilities

• Perform wire harness assembly for advanced military aircraft, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specs.
• Carry out wire terminations, including crimping and soldering, per aerospace standards.
• Install connectors and related hardware, verifying fit and electrical performance.
• Execute wire splicing and wire wrap with clean routing throughout the aircraft.
• Work with high-performance coax cables, routing and securing per technical requirements.
• Route and install aircraft wiring with proper segregation and strain relief.
• Support avionics wiring and component installation as directed by docs.
• Train in structural assembly and hydraulic/fuel line installation as needed.
• Interprete blueprints and manuals to complete tasks.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve issues and uphold safety/regulatory standards.
• Be available for 1st/2nd shifts and overtime, including some Saturdays.
