Job summary

MTSI seeks a Journeyman Aerospace Engineer to support AFLCMC/WBZ at Tinker AFB, OK. The ideal candidate will apply electronics engineering in the design, development, test and evaluation, implementation, maintenance, production, and sustainment of weapon systems, avionics, communications systems, or subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an ABET-accredited institution with 3–10 years of related engineering experience; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience with complex aerospace/defense environments is desirable.
• Must have 12+ months of SAP experience within the last five years.
• Active Top Secret clearance (within five years) and eligibility for SCI/SAP access.

Responsibilities

• Apply disciplined Air Force systems engineering processes to interpret warfighter needs, execute lifecycle activities, and assess design configurations within cost, schedule, and performance constraints.
• Ensure successful subsystem integration into operational systems by evaluating risks and recommending solutions to optimize performance and meet product-support objectives.
• Provide reliable engineering analysis, technical advice, and risk assessments to senior leadership.
• Perform engineering duties across RDT&E and sustainment activities for aircraft platforms, weapons, and air-launched armament systems.
• Review and coordinate interoperability requirements to ensure compatibility between weapons and aircraft.
• Translate warfighter requirements into detailed technical specifications for development, integration, and evaluation of weapon system hardware and software.
