Job summary

NASA Langley Research Center seeks an Aerospace Engineer to support the Vehicle Analysis Branch in advancing revolutionary aircraft, launch vehicles, and spacecraft. You will perform flight mechanics analyses, define system requirements, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex challenges.

The role involves evaluating architectures and technology for mission objectives, while ensuring rigorous analyses and documentation to support NASA's goals in aeronautics and space

Qualifications

  • One year of directly related specialized experience at the GS-12 level.
  • Experience performing flight mechanics analysis to support mission or engineering requirements.
  • Ability to prepare or present technical reports or analyses in support of engineering or mission objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain technical expertise in flight mission analysis capabilities to meet mission requirements.
  • Define tools and assess design requirements and limitations for aerospace systems.
  • Conduct systems analysis studies including mission requirements and flight performance envelopes.
  • Evaluate architectures, concepts, and technology for aerospace vehicle development.
  • Visualize and operate aerospace vehicles across launch, reentry, and in-space regimes.
  • Perform flight mechanics analyses across all flight regimes and interface with specialists.
