Job summary

Delta Solutions & Strategies is seeking a Journeyman Aerospace Engineer to support SSC Space Sensing activities at Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo, CA. The role includes systems engineering, mission integration, and life-cycle support across space systems, payloads, launch, and ground systems.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in aerospace and systems engineering within a fast-paced DoD acquisition environment, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Professional experience at journeyman level in aerospace/space systems.
• Knowledge of systems engineering across requirements, design, verification, test, and sustainment.
• Ability to review complex technical documentation and translate findings into clear recommendations.
• Ability to assess technical, schedule, interface, and mission risks and communicate impacts to Government stakeholders.
• Strong research, analytical, technical writing, editing, and briefing skills.
• Ability to work on site in Los Angeles AFB El Segundo and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute assigned technical or analytical tasks under general direction.
• Apply systems engineering methods across concept development, requirements definition, design, integration, verification, test, launch, operations, and sustainment activities.
• Review technical requirements, specifications, SPs, Integrated Master Plans and Schedules, interface documents, test documentation, and other acquisition products for technical completeness and consistency.
• Track technical performance, requirements verification, interfaces, schedule, risk, and mission readiness and identify issues requiring Government attention.
• Support spacecraft, payload, launch vehicle, ground system, and mission-partner integration activities.
• Participate in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, readiness reviews, IPTs, working groups, and other program or mission reviews.
• Conduct or support engineering trade studies, mission planning analyses, concept development, test planning, and technical assessments to inform Government decisions.
• Support configuration and data management, mission assurance, system safety, launch readiness, and operational transition activities as assigned.
• Develop technical assessments, reports, briefings, white papers, meeting products, and action-item tracking for Government review.
