Job summary

Karman Space & Defense in Mukilteo, WA is seeking a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to support the development of aerospace structures, mechanisms, and mechanical systems from concept through maturation. You will coordinate across engineering disciplines to ensure requirements are understood, validated, and met, contributing to analysis, testing, documentation, and verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 2–5 years aerospace/defense experience.
• Experience with mechanical systems, structures, electronics, cabling, integration and testing.
• Knowledge of structural analysis, FEA and physics-based modeling.
• Ability to contribute to multidisciplinary project planning and execution.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance across engineering disciplines to support development of aerospace structures and mechanisms.
• Coordinate system architecture decisions, analysis, testing, documentation and verification.
• Develop test plans and engineering reports to validate performance.
• Create interface control drawings and interface description documents.
