Bevilacqua Research Corporation in Huntsville, Alabama seeks an Aerospace Systems Engineer to support the definition, design, development, analysis, testing, and integration of Mission and Fault Management systems for launch vehicles and spacecraft.

You will develop and validate Mission and Fault Management requirements, design algorithms for events and sequences, and ensure fault management is integrated across vehicle interfaces while coordinating with Flight Software, Safety, and Mission

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or equivalent engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Recent graduates up to 10 years of experience.
  • Experience working on integrated project teams using systems engineering and project management processes.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated team player with experience in dynamic work environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and verify Mission and Fault Management requirements in support of Vehicle and Mission Management system specifications.
  • Design, model, and test algorithms for vehicle events and sequences with proper inter-system constraints and triggers.
  • Analyze nominal and off-nominal system functions across pre-flight and flight phases.
  • Interface with vehicle elements, contractors, and stakeholder organizations to ensure fault management is integrated into design and operations.
  • Present technical results and participate in reviews with multiple disciplines and teams.

We are seeking an AerospaceSystems Engineer to support the definition, design, development, analysis,testing, and integration of Mission and Fault Management systems for launchvehicles and spacecraft.

Responsibilities:

Mission and Fault ManagementDevelopment

  • Develop, manage, validate,and verify Mission and Fault Management requirements in support of Vehicleand Mission Management system specifications
  • Design, model, and testalgorithms for vehicle integrated events and sequences, includinginter-system constraints, prerequisites, event triggers, and commandrequirements for both nominal and off-nominal operations

SystemsAnalysis and Design

  • Leverage in-depthknowledge of aerospace vehicle subsystems (Engines, Main PropulsionSystem, Thrust Vector Control, Reaction Control Systems, Avionics, and/orGuidance Navigation and Control) to develop and analyze nominal andoff-nominal system functions and operating parameters throughoutpre-flight and flight phases
  • Analyze and evaluatehazards, monitored conditions, measurements, and failure modes to designappropriate and effective automated and operational responses
  • Interface with vehicleelements, contractors, and stakeholder organizations to ensure faultmanagement principles are integrated into vehicle design, interfaces, andoperations
  • Participate in recurringvehicle, discipline, and subsystem meetings with stakeholders includingFlight Software, Safety and Mission Assurance, Systems Engineering andIntegration, Ground Operations, Flight Operations, Crew Office, PayloadIntegration Office, Element Contractors, Avionics, and Safety and MissionAssurance teams
  • Present technical resultsand participate in discipline, project, and program-level reviews,including document reviews and issue resolution

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or equivalent engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Recent graduates up to 10 years of experience
  • Experience working on integrated project teams using systems engineering and project management processes
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
  • Self-motivated team player with experience in dynamic work environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering, SysML, MATLAB Stateflow, Systems Analysis
  • Familiarity with launch vehicles, spacecraft, and integrated avionics and software
