Job summary

The Boeing Company seeks an Associate or Mid-Level System Safety Engineer to support Cargo, Utility, and Tiltrotor programs in Ridley Park, PA. The role spans from conceptual development to design, test, production, and sustainment, interfacing with engineering, program management, and customers.

Responsibilities include evaluating specifications, developing SSPPs, and performing diverse hazard analyses while ensuring safety across airframes, electrical, mechanical, and software subsystems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, computer science, or software engineering.
  • 2+ years of related work experience or equivalent
  • 2+ years of cross-functional coordination experience

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer specifications and regulations to develop safety requirements and operating limits.
  • Develop System Safety Program Plans (SSPPs).
  • Perform hazard analyses across the product life cycle (FHA, PSSA, SSA, CMA, FTA, SAR, SSRA).
  • Review design specs, test and manufacturing processes for safety impacts.
  • Collaborate with government, customer and program domain experts.
  • Prepare safety analyses and risk presentations for boards and design reviews.
