Job summary

Robinson Helicopter Company seeks a System Safety Engineer to join the engineering team. You will participate in the definition, design, and test of aircraft systems to meet safety objectives throughout design, test, certification, and in-service life cycles.

You will develop safety assessments per ARP 4754A/4761, perform FHA/FTA/FMEA and other analyses to demonstrate compliance with regulations, and ensure DO-178/DO-254 DAL requirements are defined and verified.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ years in aircraft analysis or design required.
• Experience creating FHA, FTA, FMEA, Safety Assessment Reports, CCA, CMA, PRA, ZSA.
• Deep knowledge of ARP-4761 and ARP-4754A.
• FAA/EASA exposure showing 14 CFR Parts 23/25/27/29 compliance.
• Proven self-starter with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Excellent academic record and teamwork orientation.

Responsibilities

• Define, design, and test aircraft, systems, and equipment for safety objectives.
• Develop safety assessments per ARP 4754A/4761 and industry standards.
• Create AFHA, SFHA, FMEA, ASA, SSA analyses to show regulatory compliance.
• Define and verify DAL requirements for DO-178/DO-254 software/hardware.
• Maintain procedures for system safety documentation and project structure.
• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and regulators for certification.
• Prepare compliance records: plans, test reports, analyses, and data.
• Provide reliable solutions to complex safety problems.
• Mentor less experienced safety engineers.
