Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. (CRT) is seeking an entry-level Thermal Spray Set-Up Technician to prepare parts for dimensional restoration and configure equipment for the thermal spray process.

Training is provided through computer-based and hands-on programs to build necessary skills. The role involves masking, grit blasting, surface preparation, and assisting spray operators, with emphasis on reading drawings and following detailed work instructions.

Qualifications

• High school or technical school graduation or equivalent.
• Experience reading shop drawings or demonstrated ability to learn is preferred.
• Manufacturing setting experience with attention to detail helpful.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols and company policies.
• Clean, mask and grit blast components per surface prep standards.
• Review router and sketches to identify work tasks.
• Grit blast areas to specified surface finish in a booth with PPE.
• Inspect work for oil, residue or oxidation to ensure adhesion.
• Assist thermal spray operators by staging materials and preparing parts for spraying.
• Mask components to protect surfaces for subsequent operations.
• Follow written and verbal work instructions; communicate with technicians.
