Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the quality or manufacturing field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of industry, government and international quality system standards and their application to an industrial environment and knowledge of manufacturing processes and related process controls.
• Demonstrated history of effective problem solving in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in utilizing APQP tools including: Control Plans, FMEA's, PPAP and the ability to effectively communicate advance quality concepts, plans and technical data internally and with external (customer or supplier) personnel at all levels.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis tools (e.g., control charts, capability analysis, etc.) and problem-solving tools (pareto, C&E, RCCA).
• The incumbent must have proficient in the use of personal computers and general-purpose software (Microsoft Office), have excellent oral and written communication skills, and work well in a team-based environment as a leader, facilitator, or individual contributor.
• The position will require 20%-30% travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier qualification audits, including special process and aerospace classified part audits; maintain approved supplier list.
• Monitor supplier quality performance; coordinate improvement activities for poor suppliers and certification efforts for exemplary suppliers.
• Assist in training of company and supplier personnel in Parker Lord supplier quality processes; develop training material.
• Lead or coordinate training of supplier personnel in inspection and test methods and acceptance criteria.
• Assist with design, measure, audit, and improvement of supplier quality processes; document and maintain procedures; conduct audits for internal compliance.
• Participate in internal activities to support major customer and third-party certification efforts.
• Lead the supplier frozen planning review board.
• Coordinate APQP with suppliers to ensure product quality requirements are understood, communicated, and met; follow-up on resolutions.
• Work with inspection personnel to determine inspection methods and troubleshoot supplier nonconformances.
• Lead the Zero-Defect Approach with suppliers.
