Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Development Test Engineer, Structures (Starship) in Brownsville, TX. The role involves hands-on testing of structural systems, from conception to execution, including high-pressure and cryogenic fluid systems, DAQ and instrumentation, and data analysis.

You will lead technicians and coordinate with vehicle engineers to ensure safe, reliable test campaigns. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 1+ years in testing or data acquisition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or other engineering field.
• 1+ years of testing, mechanical or data acquisition, and control system design experience (internships and projects count).

Responsibilities

• Work with vehicle engineers to design and execute static and dynamic structural tests from concept to test execution.
• Design, modify and build mechanical systems including weldments and brackets.
• Design, modify and troubleshoot fluid systems for cryogenic propellants and high-pressure gases.
• Develop and maintain test procedures, sequences, scripts, and configuration files.
• Operate the test stand from assembly to activation with a small team of engineers and technicians.
• Provide daily direction to technicians for instrument installation, wiring, and structural assembly.
• Review data manually or with automated scripts.
