Job summary

Relativity Space seeks a Vehicle Structures Engineer I (Heat Shield) in Long Beach, CA to drive the full design-to-build cycle for Terran R base heat shield structures. You will design, analyze, and validate components, coordinating with TPS, Design, and Test teams while delivering on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 0–2 years in aerospace structures, a relevant engineering degree, and hands-on use of NX/TeamCenter, ANSA/META, and ANSYS.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a full cycle design engineering role iterating aerospace structures.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline (required).
• Knowledge of structural strength, stability and fatigue mechanisms; additive and traditional manufacturing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Bring critical flight structures from design concept to physical hardware ready to launch.
• Design, analyze, and support components across the Terran R base heat shield and related structures.
• Collaborate with TPS, Design, Test and Loads & Dynamics teams; use NX/TeamCenter, ANSA/META, ANSYS for analysis and documentation.
