Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Structural Analyst II in Colorado to perform high-fidelity structural and thermal analyses of solid rocket motor components. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams to support development, qualification, and production programs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 3+ years of experience with FEA/thermal modeling. Proficiency with ANSYS, Abaqus, and NASTRAN is expected. Colorado compensation range is disclosed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 3+ years of structural and thermal analysis experience.
• Proficiency with FEA and thermal modeling tools.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and test data.
• Strong problem-solving in a fast-paced development environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform FEA for structural integrity and dynamic behavior of SRM components.
• Support design iterations with data-driven geometry/material recommendations.
• Develop and validate analytical models using ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN.
• Evaluate test data and correlate with analytical models.
• Collaborate with manufacturing on nonconforming hardware and dispositions.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Assist in design reviews and failure investigations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
