Job summary

Quest Global is seeking a Stress Engineer for our aerospace location in Chula Vista, CA. The role focuses on structural analysis of in-service aircraft nacelle damages and repairs, utilizing hand calculations, FEA, and related tools to substantiate stress.

You will work with seasoned engineers, train junior staff, and contribute to continuous improvements while ensuring compliance with industry standards. A BS in Mechanical/Structural Engineering and 2–3 years of aerospace structural experience

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Structural or similar Aerospace Engineering.
• 2-3 years of experience in Structural Analysis or Stress Engineering, including any College Internship.
• Experience in analysis of composite laminate and metallic components, preferably in aerospace structures.
• Knowledge of allowable damages and repairs for metallics and composites, preferable of aircraft structures.
• Proficient with FEA tools, preferably MSC NASTRAN / PATRAN.
• Proficient with MS Excel, MS Access, Mathcad.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand calculations, Finite Element Analysis and other tools to perform structural stress substantiation.
• Provide technical recommendations to repair engineers and report-writing skills to thoroughly document analysis methodology, assumptions, and results.
• Ability to work with others, train up-and-coming engineers, and review their work.
• Realize opportunities for continuous improvement and find ways to implement solutions.
