Job summary

RTX seeks a student or early-career software engineer for an onsite role in Sterling, VA. You will design, develop, test, and debug real-time, multi-threaded software for simulation and training, collaborating on an Agile team to plan and prioritize tasks.

You will gain experience across C/C++, Unreal Engine, AI/ML, VR/MR, and cloud tools while contributing to ongoing product support and maintenance. This internship/co-op emphasizes hands-on learning and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, CS or related STEM field.
• Strong OO design and programming with C/C++ or C#.
• Experience with source control systems (Git, Subversion, ClearCase).
• Experience in Windows or Linux development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and debug real-time, multi-threaded software for simulation and training.
• Collaborate with software engineers and project management on Agile teams to plan tasks.
• Support and enhance existing software products as needed.
• Learn new technologies and apply them to new domains and problems.
