Job summary

AeroVironment in the United States is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for its 12-week Summer Internship Program. You will join a collaborative AV team, work on real projects across software areas, and gain hands-on experience in a full-time environment.

Applicants must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's in CS/SE with at least a 3.0 GPA; junior level students preferred. Relocation and housing stipend may be available depending on team and location.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming knowledge in Python, C++, or Java.
• Familiarity with IDEs such as Visual Studio, Git, Eclipse.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, coding, testing, and debugging software components.
• Contribute to tools for AV robotics and aerospace platforms.
• Collaborate across software, hardware, and systems teams to integrate capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and version control processes.
• Develop scripts or automation to improve team workflows.
• Learn Agile practices and estimate development effort and timelines.
• Support prototypes, simulations, and proof-of-concept demonstrations.
• Attend team meetings and contribute ideas.
