Job summary

Capstone Research Corporation in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a Software Engineer to work in our Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Group supporting Joint Tactical Integrated Fire Control projects. You will develop advanced software and algorithms for aerospace applications, collaborating with systems, software, and algorithm engineers to design, test, and deploy production-quality solutions.

The role emphasizes C++ and Python, neural networks, and data-driven decision support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline.
• 1–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in modern C++ and Python.
• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests (Google Test or similar).
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to qualify for a DoD clearance.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10%.

Responsibilities

• Engineer joint tactical fire control solutions in a collaborative team environment.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software using C++ and Python.
• Develop algorithms and software for aerospace and mission-system applications.
• Analyze datasets and develop software to extract actionable information for engineering decisions.
• Develop, train, test, and evaluate neural networks and ML algorithms.
• Prototype algorithms in Python and transition to production-quality C++ implementations.
• Create unit, integration, and system-level tests to verify performance and correctness.
• Analyze performance and identify optimization opportunities.
