Job summary

Aviation & Missile Solutions is seeking a junior Software Engineer to join our modeling and simulation team in Huntsville, AL. You will develop high-fidelity, physics-based simulation models for US Army radar systems using modern C++ and Linux environments.

You will work under mentorship, learn GPU acceleration (CUDA), run simulation test suites, and integrate models into real-time HWIL testbeds. A strong growth path in defense software engineering and HPC awaits recent graduates.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C++ (C++11 or newer) through coursework, projects, or internships.
• Solid CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, OO design, debugging.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS).
• Git version control experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication for team collaboration.
• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance.
• Resident of Huntsville, AL area or willingness to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain modular C++ radar subsystem models (transmitters, receivers, signal processing, environmental effects).
• Refactor and optimize algorithms for readability and native Linux execution.
• Support execution of digital M&S models in real-time HWIL and discrete-event simulations; verify test plans and builds.
