Job summary

RBC Bearings in Franklin, Indiana is hiring a Silver Braze torch operator to join the manufacturing team in a high-mix, lower-volume environment. The role involves brazing thin-walled stainless steel, flame control, inspections, and maintaining safety standards under an Operations Supervisor.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, AWS silver brazing certification, and at least 2 years of experience with hand tools, with FAA drug screen and background checks required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience brazing thin-walled stainless steel.
• Must pass AWS silver braze certification test.
• Able to pass FAA drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Ignite and adjust gas torches to a precise neutral flame.
• Clean metal surfaces, apply flux to prevent oxidation.
• Feed silver brazing alloy rods into joints using capillary action.
• Inspect cracks, proper fill, or overheating using visual checks and precision measuring tools.
• Maintain torches, tips, gas regulators, and safety equipment, reporting malfunctions.
• Ensure products adhere to quality standards.
• Read and follow routing instructions to ensure product safety.
• Polishing and basic blending of product.
• Retrieve fixtures.
• As required, perform work assignments as directed.
• Cold Work metal tubes, ducts, and manifolds to conform to check fixtures.
