Job summary

Onward Search is seeking a CFT Sheet Metal Modification Technician to join on-site aircraft maintenance. This full-time hourly role offers comprehensive benefits and 401k. Work focuses on KC-135-type aircraft with sheet metal modifications and structural repairs, requiring 4+ years in structural or sheet metal disciplines.

You will interpret drawings, install fasteners, and support skin rework while documenting activities and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on experience in structural, sheet metal, machining or composites.
• Technical training from a trade or military school related to structural or sheet metal work.
• FAA Airframe license preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and publications.
• Knowledge of aerospace tooling and QA standards (AS9100).

Responsibilities

• Install and test aerospace structural components following manuals and directives.
• Interpret drawings and specs to support modification, repair, and replacement tasks.
• Perform extensive fastener installation/removal to QA standards.
• Assist in training technicians in re-skinning, trimming, drilling, and installing skins.
• Maintain detailed documentation of work activities and safety compliance.
