Strategic Support Solutions in Smyrna, TN is seeking an Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic with strong craftsmanship to support a premier aerospace client, performing structural repairs, corrosion control, and modifications on thin-skinned airframes.

Candidates must have at least 3 years of hands-on sheet metal experience, own a complete tool set, read blueprints and SRMs, and pass background checks. FAA A&P is preferred but not required; strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of sheet metal fabrication and structural repair on thin-skin general aviation airframes.
• Proficient with aviation sheet metal tools and riveting techniques.
• Able to troubleshoot structural discrepancies and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced hangar.

Responsabilités

• Perform corrosion mitigation, structural repairs, and modifications on aircraft skin panels, ribs, and structural components.
• Inspect, evaluate, and document structural damage per SRM and technical data.
• Work with thin-gauge aluminum and composite surfaces: cutting, bending, forming, dimpling, flushing.
• Remove, fabricate, fit, and reinstall aircraft panels, skins, cowlings, and fairings.
• Mechanically strip finishes and prepare surfaces using approved methods.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering orders, technical schematics, and manufacturer specs.
• Document maintenance actions, logbooks, parts requisitions, and work orders per FAA/regulatory guidelines.
