Job summary

Chipton-Ross, Inc. is seeking a Sheet Metal/LO Coater Technician for a contract role in Panama City, FL. The ideal candidate has experience with LO coatings on 5th generation fighter airframes and can read engineering drawings to identify repair locations.

Responsibilities include fabricating parts, bonding components, operating precision tools, recording data, and maintaining a safe, FOD-free work area. A Bachelor's or Master's degree is required; U.S. aerospace certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in sheet metal or LO coatings.
• Ability to read and interpret aircraft drawings.
• Experience with bonding and data recording is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret aircraft drawings and manuals to locate repair areas.
• Use precision measuring instruments and standard scales.
• Operate drills, angle motors, shears, drill press, and pneumatic riveter.
• Fabricate shims, brackets, doublers, and patches for exacting fit.
• Bond aircraft parts and materials and verify conformity to specs.
• Set up and operate material testers and mixers.
• Record data for future use and maintain a safe, FOD-free work area.
• Perform trimming, filing, drilling, riveting, and deburring as required.
