Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a Sheet Metal Shop Technician to support precision fabrication of complex, tight-tolerance flight hardware. You will set up, operate, and maintain laser cutters, press brakes, rollers, and related forming tools to produce aerospace components that meet stringent quality standards.

As a senior member of the fabrication team, you’ll mentor junior operators, collaborate with design engineers, improve fabrication methods, perform inspection with calipers and micrometers, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 3+ years in precision manufacturing or aerospace fabrication.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain sheet metal equipment (laser cutters, press brakes, rollers, English wheels).
• Read and interpret drawings to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Perform precision measurement and inspection with calipers, micrometers, height gauges.
• Collaborate with engineers to refine fabrication processes.
• Assist with basic assembly (drilling, riveting).
• Maintain preventive maintenance and safety.
• Train operators on setup and best practices.
• Keep workspace clean and safety compliant.
• Provide feedback to improve work instructions.
