Job summary

Apex Space is seeking a Receiving Inspector to verify inbound electronics hardware for spaceflight builds at our Playa Vista facility. You’ll inspect PCBs, harnesses, connectors, and cables, review C of C and packing lists, and ensure proper traceability before parts enter inventory or production.

Ideal candidates have aerospace inspection experience, familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001, IPC-A-610/620, and GD&T, plus ERP/MRP documentation skills and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting electronics/EEE parts in manufacturing or aerospace environments.
• Familiarity with AS9100 and/or ISO9001 quality systems.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 workmanship standards.
• Understanding of GD&T fundamentals.
• Experience documenting inspections, discrepancies, and traceability in ERP/MRP systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to perform physical tasks and lift/move materials.
• Onsite work: 6:00am–3:00pm with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect inbound materials, focusing on electronics and EEE components for flight spacecraft builds.
• Perform visual and workmanship inspections on PCBA, harnesses, connectors, and cables.
• Review and verify documentation (C of C, packing lists, inspection reports).
• Identify, document, and track non-conformances in the ERP system.
• Ensure traceability and proper handling of flight hardware through receiving.
• Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy as needed.
• Develop and improve receiving inspection practices and procedures.
• Assist with training or mentoring less experienced inspectors.
• Move inspected parts into inventory or to production as required.
