Motive Workforce in Nevada is seeking a Research & Development Engineer III (Mechanical/Aerospace) to lead hands-on product development from concept to validated designs. You’ll design components, prototype assemblies, perform tests, and drive improvements for aerospace fastening and bonding technologies.

The role emphasizes working with prototypes, test equipment, and cross‑functional teams to ensure manufacturability and production readiness, with a competitive salary and substantial employee

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in mechanical engineering, R&D, or NPD.
• Experience taking products from concept to design, prototyping, testing and validation.
• Hands-on mechanical design, prototype development and testing experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical components, assemblies, drawings and specs.
• Experience troubleshooting performance issues and failure analysis.
• Ability to develop test plans, interpret results and document findings.
• Understanding of manufacturability and transitioning to production.
• Hands-on with prototypes, test equipment, technicians, and manufacturing teams.

• Develop new aerospace products from concept through design, prototyping, testing and validation.
• Design and evaluate mechanical components, assemblies, fastening systems, and joining solutions.
• Build physical prototypes and conduct hands-on tests to evaluate performance.
• Evaluate adhesives, bonded joints, fasteners and joining technologies.
• Investigate bondline prep, surface prep, curing methods, coatings and material compatibility.
