Job summary

AeroVironment quality team member, the Quality Technician II supports the Quality Engineering group through processing First Article Inspection (FAI) and Part Approval Process, selective inspection, analysis and processing of internal Nonconformance material, and other administrative and logistical support duties.

This role represents the Quality Department during UAV flight acceptance test activity, helps create and maintain documentation, and collaborates with QE, manufacturing, and suppliers

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1-2 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in mechanical inspection methods and GD&T to ANSI Y14.5.
• Solid understanding of FAI validation and verification process requirements.
• Strong computer skills with MS Office (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specification systems.
• Ability to complete flight test documentation and document non-conformances.
• Experience performing pre/post-flight visual inspections on flight hardware and components.
• Ability to remove/replace field replaceable components and document results.
• Willingness to travel to remote flying sites daily and work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Process inbound/outbound FAI and deliverable submissions with documentation and records.
• Conduct selective inspection under QE direction and communicate results.
• Process internal non-conforming material through NC processes and maintain documentation.
• Support QEs with corrective actions, product evaluation, and sorting activities.
• Assist with DCMA Source Inspection processes and coordinate with Shipping/Contracts for timely delivery.
• Create final inspection documentation package (COC, TD R's) and support customer inspections.
• Participate in internal and third-party audits of measurements and documented systems.
• Develop and maintain quality-related process instructions.
• Handle semi-routine assignments and adapt to fast-paced environments.
• Other duties as assigned by QA leadership.
