Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our Quality team in Winsted, CT. You will help maintain the Quality Management System, support production, and ensure precision and compliance for aerospace customers.

You will perform inspections, review documentation, manage records, update instructions, and participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives alongside Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or technical/quality education preferred.
• Experience with ISO9001 and/or AS9100 QMS standards is preferred.
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) is helpful.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong documentation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform source inspections using customer specifications, engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality documentation.
• Review product documentation to ensure compliance with customer requirements prior to product release (DSQR/Product Release activities).
• Maintain quality records through document control, including scanning, filing, and record retention.
• Update work instructions, routers, quality documents, and manufacturing paperwork.
• Support the administration of the Certified Operator/Inspector Program, including employee training, testing, auditing, and documentation.
• Conduct quality audits of parts being manufactured and verify compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements.
• Collect, review, and maintain SPC data to support process improvement.
• Assist with MRB documentation, corrective actions, supplier returns, and quality reporting.
• Verify inspection reports and quality documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Support internal special processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform internal process audits and help ensure compliance with our Quality Management System.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to resolve quality concerns while maintaining positive working relationships.
