Job summary

Ducommun, Inc. in Carson, CA is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the Quality Management System and ensure compliance with AS9100 and government contracts. You will oversee audits, supplier quality, inspection, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

You will develop the quality team, collaborate with engineering, operations, supply chain, and program management, track defects and corrective actions, and maintain compliance documentation across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of quality experience, aerospace/defense or precision manufacturing preferred.
• 3+ years of quality leadership/management experience.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001.
• Experience with audits, corrective action, nonconformance management, and root-cause analysis.
• Government contracting experience and knowledge of FAR/DFARS preferred.
• Experience with aerospace customers and government contractors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and continuously improve the Quality Management System.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer/government requirements.
• Lead internal, customer, registrar, and government audits.
• Manage nonconformances, corrective actions, root-cause analysis, and quality escapes.
• Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
• Monitor supplier quality and corrective actions.
• Serve as primary quality contact for customers and government representatives.
• Track quality metrics and corrective actions.
• Lead and develop Quality personnel.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
• Maintain quality records, traceability, and compliance documentation.
• Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
