Job summary

Zone 5 Technologies in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking a Quality Control Inspector I/II to perform production inspections of hardware in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role supports conformity, traceability, and manufacturing flow while coordinating with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations.

Level I inspectors perform basic inspections with guided supervision, while Level II expands to more complex/critical inspections

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years of manufacturing, inspection, electronics, machining, or related technical experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow basic engineering drawings and instructions with guidance as needed.
• Ability to use basic inspection equipment and document results accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to elevate nonconforming conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections within qualified areas using established plans and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain inspection discipline and use inspection equipment correctly.
• Escalate issues and potential nonconformances through established channels.
• Independently perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections for Level II with limited supervision.
• Communicate inspection status and risks to Quality and Production teams.
