Job summary

Iris Technology Corporation in Irvine, CA is seeking a Quality Inspector to inspect and verify products meet DoD and aerospace standards. You will document findings, collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities include conducting incoming, in-process, and final inspections, maintaining records, and supporting audits. Strong attention to detail and experience with AS9100/ISO 9001 are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or CQI certification preferred.
• 1-5 years of experience in quality inspection in regulated manufacturing (DoD/aerospace) a plus.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and MIL-STD standards.
• DoD contracts experience and understanding of CUI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform Incoming, In-Process, and Final Inspections of materials and assemblies to verify conformance to specifications and DoD/aerospace requirements.
• Document inspection results and nonconformities accurately per internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, MIL-STD, and other aerospace/defense standards.
• Operate precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs) to validate dimensions and tolerances.
• Identify defects, complete NCRs, and communicate quality issues for corrective action.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and QA to troubleshoot quality issues and drive process improvements.
• Participate in root cause analysis and lead corrective/preventive actions to reduce recurrence of issues.
• Audit processes and assist with internal and external audits (DoD, AS9100, customer audits).
• Maintain accurate, organized documentation and certifications.
