Job summary

Saab, Inc. in West Lafayette, IN is seeking a Quality Inspector to support the assembly and inspection of aircraft components. You will visually and dimensionally verify conformance to drawings and lead in-process inspections during builds.

The role requires at least 2+ years in quality inspection within manufacturing, preferably aerospace or automotive, and familiarity with ISO/AS9100. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lb and work overtime when required.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2+ years relevant quality inspection experience in manufacturing.
• QA experience in aeronautics or automotive fields preferred.
• Technical degree or certification in air structure assembly is a plus.
• Experience with ISO/AS9100 and standardized processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Authorize assembly process completion and support in-process inspections.
• Visually and dimensionally verify product against engineering drawings.
• Inspect surfaces, fasteners, sealant, paint, and testing for defects.
• Compile data/reports; provide feedback and corrective actions.
• Develop deviation reports; represent quality at MRB.
• Monitor non-conforming material processes and procedures.
• Deliver high workmanship in inspection for structural assembly and systems.
