Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Quality Inspector to join its quality team. The role involves inspecting purchased parts and materials for conformance to drawings, specifications, and processing requirements as they arrive from suppliers.

You will determine inspection methods, adapt devices, and report findings to stakeholders, working from released drawings and procedures. The ideal candidate has IPC-610/620 certification, ISO/AS quality system familiarity, and hands-on experience with precision

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• IPC-610/620 certified or able to be recertified.
• Familiar with ISO and AS quality management systems.
• Experience with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and aerospace documentation.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Inspect purchased parts and materials for conformance to drawings, specs, and processing requirements.
• Determine methods, sequences, and procedures for inspection and adapt measuring devices as needed.
• Prepare inspection reports and initiate nonconformance reports when necessary.
• Review engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to perform inspections.
• Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs and optical comparators to verify dimensions.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.
• Train quality inspection staff and support calibration of QC equipment.
• Participate in First Article Inspections and in-process / final inspections.
