Job summary

Barnes Aerospace is seeking an inspector to perform final dimensional and visual inspections on aerospace engine parts. The role requires reading blueprints, applying GD&T, and using gauges, micrometers and CMMs with PC-DMIS/MODUS where applicable.

Candidate should have 2+ years in aerospace or manufacturing inspection, and be able to interpret technical documents while maintaining strict adherence to customer specifications in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

2+ years of inspection experience in aerospace/manufacturing.
Experience performing dimensional and visual inspection in aerospace.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints and specs.
Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, gauges, micrometers, borescopes and other measuring tools.
Multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficient with CMMs using PC-DMIS and/or MODUS (desirable).
Experience in turbine engine repair inspections (desirable).

Responsibilities

Final inspection of finished aerospace engine parts and components.
Measure features and holes to verify conformance to customer requirements.
Inspection includes visual and dimensional using appropriate gauges and measuring equipment.
Interpret operation sheets and blueprints to meet customer criteria for acceptable parts.
Ensure all inspected parts meet criteria for acceptance; complete required paperwork if defects are found.
