Job summary

Belcan is seeking an Aerospace Quality Inspector in Warren, Michigan to ensure precision‑machined aerospace components meet stringent standards. The role involves first article, in‑process, final, and receiving inspections, with responsibility for documenting findings and ensuring conformance to customer and engineering specs.

You will work with production to resolve quality concerns, read engineering drawings, and operate CMMs and precision instruments.

Pay: $20 - $25/hr (DOE) with shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift

Start Date: ASAP

Job Type: Direct, Full-Time

Schedule:

• 1st Shift: M-F, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: M-F, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
• 3rd Shift: M-F, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Summary: Aerospace Quality Inspector - Belcan is recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to support a leading aerospace manufacturer in ensuring precision‑machined components meet customer, engineering, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform first article, in‑process, final, and receiving inspections on precision‑machined aerospace components.
• Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and overall conformance to engineering requirements.
• Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other precision inspection equipment.
• Perform dimensional, visual, and mechanical inspections using established quality procedures.
• Identify non‑conforming products and document inspection findings.
• Work closely with production personnel to resolve quality concerns.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
• Ensure all products meet customer specifications and aerospace quality standards.
• Complete inspection documentation accurately and thoroughly.

Required Experience

• Experience inspecting precision‑machined components.
• Experience using precision inspection tools, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other inspection equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

• GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming and/or operation.
• AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality systems knowledge.
• First Article Inspection experience.
• Root cause analysis and problem‑solving experience.

Physical Requirements

Interview Process

Qualified candidates will participate in an in‑person interview, which may include a hands‑on skills assessment related to the position.

Candidates are encouraged to wear steel‑toe or composite‑toe shoes for the interview. Safety glasses and protective toe caps will be provided if needed.

• U.S. Citizenship required. Proof of citizenship (U.S. Passport, Real ID, or Birth Certificate) must be provided during the hiring process.
• Must successfully pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screening.
• For MRO operations, candidates may be subject to DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing, including random testing.
