Job summary

Orbit Fab, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of spacecraft components. You will define and improve quality processes, drive non-conformance resolution, and collaborate with development and test teams to address challenging technical issues.

The role is part of the operations group and offers cross-functional problem solving in a dynamic space hardware environment. You’ll lead quality plans for flight products, coordinate supplier quality assurance, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Subject matter expert in aerospace & defense specs for flight hardware/software/electronics.
• Technical quality leadership across the value stream including materials and manufacturing.
• Familiar with ISO9001/AS9001 and Reliability/Lean/Six Sigma approaches.
• Able to compare Quality Assurance vs Quality Control.
• Experience leading a technicalQuality team through development to production.
• Experience with coordinate-measuring machines (CMMs) and metrology.
• Strong verbal and written communication with stakeholders and customers.
• Demonstrates interpersonal skills in a cross-functional team.
• Willing to work a hybrid schedule (3-5 days on site) in Lafayette, CO.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering and operations to create quality plans for flight products.
• Lead MRB processes and supplier quality assurance improvements.
• Implement standards and methods to sustain quality performance.
• Review designs and work instructions to mitigate manufacturability issues.
• Provide interpretation of regulations to ensure compliance with external standards.
• Serve as a technical QE resource across projects and teams.
• Support manufacturing compliance with customer and internal specs.
• Lead nonconformance process and drive root causes and corrective actions.
• Enhance the company’s quality metrics.
