Job summary

Orbit Fab, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure reliability of spacecraft components and drive quality processes from development through production.

You will lead cross-functional efforts with engineering and operations to define quality plans, perform inspections, and drive corrective actions. You will interpret aerospace standards, work with suppliers, and mentor teams in QA principles, contributing to mission success and product reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Quality leadership in aerospace/defense with flight hardware, software, and electronics.
• Ability to lead across value stream including raw materials and suppliers.
• Familiar with ISO9001/AS9001 and reliability, lean, Six Sigma.
• Demonstrated QA leadership from development to production.
• Experience with CMMs and metrology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering and operations to create quality plans for flight products.
• Lead MRB process and conduct inspections with suppliers.
• Implement standards and methods to sustain quality improvements.
• Review designs and instructions to mitigate manufacturability risks.
• Interpret regulations to ensure compliance with external standards.
• Provide guidance as QE expert across teams.
• Support manufacturing to meet contractual requirements.
• Lead nonconformance investigations and corrective actions.
• Improve quality metrics across the organization.
