Job summary

Actalent seeks a qualified Quality Engineer in Indianapolis, IN, to lead product and document inspections within an aerospace manufacturing environment. The role focuses on reliability improvements, issue resolution, and process enhancements, collaborating with engineering and commercial teams.

Ideal candidates have aerospace quality experience, AS9100 familiarity, and strong root-cause analysis skills. This onsite position involves travel and requires a deep understanding of quality

Qualifications

• 35 years of related experience in manufacturing and/or quality control, with at least 3 years specifically in a Quality Engineering role.
• Aerospace manufacturing background with knowledge of aerospace processes.
• In-depth understanding of AS9100 QMS and its application in aerospace.
• Hands-on experience with FAIR, PPAP, and Non-Conformance Corrective Action Plans.
• Experience in supplier quality and customer-facing interactions.
• Proficiency with APQP and quality assurance methodologies.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T principles.
• Familiarity with GR&R studies and external auditing techniques.
• Experience with 3D Model Based Definition tools (CATIA, Enovia DMU).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily product and document inspection activities.
• Analyze and troubleshoot technical specifications and non-conformance issues.
• Identify non-conformance problems and drive corrective actions.
• Conduct root cause analysis and validate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with QA, sales, customers to resolve issues and improvements.
• Monitor quality metrics and identify trends for improvement.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for improvements.
• Travel domestically and globally as required to support activities.
