Job summary

Sunshine Avionics LLC, based in Miramar, Florida, seeks an experienced Aerospace Quality Engineer / Quality Systems Specialist to lead the QMS, ensure AS9100/FAA compliance, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing and engineering.

The role focuses on audits, CAPA investigations, and ensuring product safety in a highly regulated environment with hands-on engineering collaboration and supplier management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 3–7+ years of aerospace quality experience in a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of AS9100/AS9102/AS9145 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Experience with root-cause analysis (8D, DMAIC, 5-Why, Fishbone).
• Familiarity with GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Experience with SPC and inspection techniques (CMM, calipers).
• Strong FAA/EASA regulatory knowledge including NADCAP requirements.
• Proficiency with FMEA, control plans, and SPC software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for audits and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain QMS per AS9100/FAA requirements.
• Lead audits (customer/regulatory) and CAPA investigations.
• Manage NCR, MRB dispositions, and supplier corrective actions.
• Support APQP and PPAP processes and monitor quality metrics.
• Interface with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers to resolve issues.
• Train and develop Quality Inspector team; uphold document control and records.
