Job summary

Sunshine Avionics LLC in Miramar, Florida, is seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Engineer to lead and maintain quality management systems in a highly regulated environment. You will ensure compliance with AS9100/FAA requirements and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing and engineering processes.

The role requires collaboration across engineering, production, supply chain and customers, strong root cause analysis skills, and hands-on leadership to train and develop the Quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 3-7+ years of quality engineering experience in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of AS9100/AS9102/AS9145 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Experience with root cause analysis methodologies (8D, DMAIC, 5-Why, Fishbone).
• Familiarity with GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Experience with SPC and inspection techniques (CMM, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for audits and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS per AS9100 and FAA requirements.
• Lead internal and external audits (customer and regulatory).
• Perform root cause analysis and CAPA investigations.
• Review and approve FAI per AS9102.
• Manage NCR, MRB dispositions, and SCAR actions.
• Support APQP and PPAP processes.
• Develop and monitor quality metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
• Interface with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers to resolve quality issues.
• Support calibration programs and MSA/Gage R&R.
• Maintain document control and training records.
