Job summary

Firefly Aerospace seeks a seasoned Quality Engineer to own the development and maintenance of inspection plans, processes, and validation activities for flight hardware and software. You will lead containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to ensure reliability and mission success.

Based at our Briggs, TX production and test facility, you will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams to implement robust quality plans, conform to AS9100 and related standards, and drive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering (or related discipline) is required.
• 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing, quality, or design engineering experience.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and quality control documentation.
• Experience with aerospace quality standards (AS9100/ISO 9001).
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to adapt workflow and collaborate in a team.

Responsibilities

• Partner with design and manufacturing to create quality plans for flight products.
• Develop and maintain inspection plans for propulsion components and sub-assemblies.
• Ensure adherence to customer requirements and regulatory standards.
• Lead and support quality inspectors and optimize inspection processes.
• Collect, track, and trend production data, performing basic statistical analysis.
• Implement corrective actions and quarantine plans for non-conforming products.
