Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Quality Engineer to design and maintain inspection processes for flight hardware and software. The role focuses on containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to ensure reliability and mission success.

The position is located at the Avionics facility in Leander, TX. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in electrical engineering, aerospace quality standards, and hands-on experience with inspection techniques and GD&T.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline and understanding of quality control documentation.
• Experience applying engineering fundamentals to interpret technical information and drawings.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality standards like AS9100 or ISO 9001 is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are essential.
• Knowledge of GD&T and precision inspection is required.

Responsibilities

• Create quality plans for flight products with key characteristics and testing considerations.
• Develop and maintain inspection plans for electrical/avionics components and sub-assemblies.
• Lead and support inspectors, drive non-conformance resolution, and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in audits to ensure compliance with Firefly Quality Management System and external standards.
• Generate traceability records and support root cause analysis for quality issues.
