Job summary

Firefly Aerospace’s Leander, TX facility is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to define inspection processes for qualification and flight hardware, lead audits, and drive continuous improvement in quality control. You will ensure products meet design requirements and manufacture to standards in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency
• 2+ years hands-on aerospace/military/manufacturing experience
• Ability to read technical information, GD&T, and related quality control documentation
• Experience with aerospace quality standards (AS9100 / ISO 9001) or equivalents
• Associate degree or higher in quality, engineering, or related technical discipline
• Experience applying quality assurance principles and inspection techniques
• Ability to read blueprints and Model-Based Definitions

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on spacecraft components and sub-assemblies
• Develop and execute inspection programs ensuring design and testing requirements are met
• Document non-conformances and track corrective actions
• Collect and analyze production data, including first-pass yield and non-conformance trends
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and perform root-cause analysis
• Quarantine and process non-conforming product and lead containment
• Maintain tool control and calibration processes, including metrology validation
• Support manufacturing compliance with customer and internal specs
• Initiate programs to improve product quality and inspection efficiency
