Job summary

KBR is seeking a Quality Engineer to support NASA programs in the Santa Ana, CA area. These roles include full-time and part-time positions focusing on developing and implementing mission assurance requirements across the project life cycle, with emphasis on supplier surveillance and inspections.

Responsibilities include monitoring conformance to procedures and contractual requirements, plus extensive documentation of non-conformances and corrective actions to ensure flight hardware quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years Quality Engineering experience.
• Previous NASA or aerospace industry experience.
• GMIPS for Electronic Boards.
• Pre-cap inspection of hybrid microcircuits.
• 100% solder joints prior to conformal coating of each flight PWA.
• 100% conformal coatings on flight PWA.
• Final workmanship inspection prior to box level final closure.
• Connector mates to mission hardware integrated into the spacecraft.
• General workmanship quality prior to final acceptance testing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure flight hardware anomalies, corrective actions, and re-verifications are documented per non-conformance system.
• Participate in production planning, review manufacturing flow plans, MRRs and TRRs.
• Examine process design, qualification records, and verify labs carry required certifications.
• Review flight hardware records and address open items before tests.
• Monitor contractor quality and safety controls during fabrication, integration and tests.
• QAR monitoring and root cause corrective actions support.
• Collect and analyze data measuring supplier success.
• Review CDRL documents related to QA and provide recommendations.
• Review flight hardware records for completeness before integration and final acceptance testing.
