Job summary

KBR Careers in Boulder, CO seeks a Quality Engineer to support NASA programs. The role covers the full lifecycle, focusing on supplier surveillance, inspections, and adherence to procedures. It involves reviewing processes, MRRs, TRRs, and ensuring conformance of flight hardware and documentation.

Ideal candidates have a engineering degree and extensive quality engineering experience in aerospace. Both full-time and part-time roles may be available, with compensation aligned to contract needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years Quality Engineering experience.
• Previous NASA or aerospace industry experience.
• GMIPS for Electronic Boards.
• Pre-cap inspection of hybrid microcircuits.
• 100% solder joints prior to conformal coating.
• 100% conformal coatings on flight PWAs.
• Final workmanship inspection prior to integration.
• Connector mates to mission hardware integrated into spacecraft.
• General workmanship prior to final acceptance testing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure flight hardware anomalies and corrective actions are documented per QA system.
• Participate in production planning and MRRs/TRRs.
• Examine process design, qualification records, and verify lab certifications.
• Review flight hardware records and address open items before tests.
• Monitor contractor quality and safety controls during fabrication, integration, tests.
• Support root cause corrective actions.
• Support data analysis for supplier performance.
• Review supplier CDRL documents related to QA and provide recommendations.
• Review records for completeness before integration and acceptance testing.
• Perform final instrument buy-off review and complete inspections.
