Job summary

Eaton’s Camarillo, CA facility is seeking a Quality Engineer to develop and maintain quality standards, ensuring conformance to customer requirements and aerospace quality systems. The Senior Quality Engineer will drive continuous improvement, support design and manufacturing, and lead corrective actions leveraging 8D, 5 Why, and lean tools.

Role requires on-site work M-F in Camarillo; relocation assistance is not available. ITAR compliance and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited educational institution.
• Minimum 2 years of engineering or manufacturing engineering experience in an assembly manufacturing environment
• Quality System Knowledge (e.g. AS9100, ISO 9001, TS16949)
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• ITAR: U.S. person as defined by ITAR

Responsibilities

• Completes Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision.
• Develop, communicate, or train, and ensure adherence to quality standards, product specifications, work instructions and procedures across a multifunctional manufacturing organization.
• Lead and/or provide technical advice and feedback to the Engineering & program management teams assigned to continuous improvement and problem solving.
• Work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to support development projects and milestones to achieve zero-defect quality and launch readiness.
• Assure that product shipped meets internal and external customer requirements.
• Lead corrective action process using 8D, 5 Why, A3, and lean tools.
• Acts as an organizational contact for customer quality concerns and ensure appropriate corrective actions are deployed.
• Evaluate, communicate, and rectify in-process rejections, obtain disposition and implement containment, corrective and preventative action to ensure product performance and specification attainment.
• Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards aligned with Aerospace Quality System Standard and Eaton policies.
• Communicate quality issues to IPT and frontline leaders and lead root cause and permanent corrective action documentation.
• Direct the disposition and analysis of returned material and internal non-conforming product and ensure top pareto items are addressed.
• Support ISO 9001 audits and related activities and participate in quality management system activities.
• Review supplier FAI submissions, control plans, and assist with FAI and control plan creation; ensure MIPs are included.
