Job description

Eaton’s IS AER ITD Aeropsace Interconnect division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer. The expected annual salary range is $82,000 – $105,000 per year.

This role requires working on‑site Monday through Friday at our Camarillo, CA location. Relocation assistance is not available.

What you’ll do:

Senior Quality Engineer responsibilities include developing and maintaining quality standards, ensuring compliance with customer and industry specifications, providing technical support to program management, operations, customers, and suppliers, leading corrective actions, and fostering a quality culture across manufacturing operations.

• Complete Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision.
• Develop, communicate, or train on quality standards, specifications, work instructions, and procedures.
• Lead and provide technical advice to engineering and program management teams for continuous improvement and problem solving.
• Partner with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to support all development projects and milestones for zero‑defect quality and launch readiness.
• Ensure shipped products meet internal and external customer requirements.
• Lead corrective action processes using 8D, 5 Why, A3, and lean tools.
• Serve as contact for customer quality concerns and deploy corrective actions.
• Evaluate, communicate, and rectify in‑process rejections with containment, corrective, and preventative actions.
• Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards aligned with Aerospace Quality System standards and Eaton policies.
• Communicate quality issues to Integrated Product Team (IPT), front–line leaders, and factory personnel for root cause and corrective action.
• Direct disposition and analysis of returned material and internal non‑conforming product.
• Facilitate quality management system activities and regular audits, including Eaton QMS implementation and ISO 9001 audits.
• Review supplier FAI submissions, control plans, and assist with FAI and control plan creation.
• Work with Design Engineering and Supply Chain to define quality criteria on new parts and communicate requirements to suppliers.
• Generate End Item Data Package (EIDP) that meets customer requirements for each shipment; set up a data repository for documentation.
• Train staff on procedures for preparing EIDPs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 2 years of engineering or manufacturing engineering experience in an assembly manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of quality systems such as AS9100, ISO 9001, TS16949.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• U.S. person under ITAR (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
• Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Camarillo, CA will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and requirements.
• Experience performing quality audits.
• Proficiency with MS Office software.
• Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
• Familiarity with MIL‑STD and NASA requirements.

Additional Information:

• Position requires interaction with customers, customer representatives, auditors, regulatory agencies, and internal departments.
• Limited travel may be required (<10%).
