Job summary

Triumph Group in Hartford, CT is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to lead SQA activities across aircraft and subsystem software lifecycles. You will audit software processes, develop SQAP artifacts, and ensure compliance with AS9100 and related aerospace standards.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years in aerospace quality, strong knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100, and experience with IBM Rational Change and JIRA. This role emphasizes safety through quality in design and manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in a relevant engineering or quality discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace or other regulated design and manufacturing industry.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems procedures ISO9001, and SAE AS9100.
  • Knowledge of aerospace certification process including ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178B/C (and supplements), DO-254, DO-330, DO-331, ISO9001, AS9100, and AS13100.
  • Some experience with IBM Rational Change and JIRA.
  • Superb problem-solving, team communication, attention to detail, analytical and methodical skills.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Experience with the development and flawless execution of Software Quality Assurance processes.
  • Significant aerospace software supplier oversight experience.

  • Coordination and completion of supplier software audits.
  • Management of supplier quality records.
  • Reporting and tracking of supplier software corrective actions.
  • Support the AS9100 and AS13100 quality system requirements.
  • Perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) for internal non-conformities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Position

Software Quality Assurance Engineer – West Hartford, CT. The role collaborates with Software Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Design Engineers to provide design, auditability of process, and process controls. Responsibilities include planning, building, and managing certification artifacts and timelines at the aircraft, systems, and sub‑system levels. The ideal candidate has a passion for safety through quality in design, software development, and manufacturing.
